ICC NEWSLETTER - September 20, 2019
Fall is in the air - and right around the corner! - and with Fall begins the most active periods of time in our parish. Let's get right to it!
This Wednesday was a great day! Adrienne Lauer and her team of bright, enthusiastic, and cheerful Catechists and Aides welcomed our youngsters back to class. This year we have a fantastic complement of Catechists, ranging from a tag team of three young men - all
- who graduated from the REP, to
, and finally to
who want to bring our peaceful and living Faith to the children. The name for that is Faith in Action.
Thank you to all of them, and thank you to you, our parents, who have enrolled their children in the program. There is nothing like the Holy Spirit at work. If you would like to take part in bringing the Faith to the future of the Church, and have a lot of fun with a great team of people, consider becoming a Catechist or Aide. You will be surprised at the camaraderie you will experience, and the family we've become.
Sign, Sign, Everywhere A Sign
Speaking of High School Seniors... did you know that this year, and for the previous two, our changing sign on Broadway has been the work of High School Seniors?
Are You Expecting?
And speaking of young people...
We rejoice in the gift of new life. That's why we have
, count 'em,
Masses a year for them.
If you're expecting a baby, or if you had one in the last 12 months
, bring them to the
10AM Mass on Sunday October 13
! We have a special blessing for you and them.
Help us to spread the word. Tell your Catholic friends and neighbors who may be expecting, or recently had a baby, whether or not they are "Church regulars". You may make a difference in their lives.
SO. MUCH. MORE.
This year our Parish Council will be working hard to bring more of our brothers and sisters back home. As we continue "old" traditions, we will be starting new ones. Below are a few highlights and reminders of what is coming in October. It's going to be a busy month, and you know that November and December get even busier. So, on your way in and out of Mass, if you see a Council Member (you can spot them from their pins), say hello. And if there is something you would like to do here, tell them. It might be the start of something big. And while you're at it, pick up a ticket or five to the A & R Spaghetti Dinner. It's going to be amazing!
Have a wonderful weekend! See you at Mass.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Immaculate Conception Church (Irvington-on-Hudson)
