Mother's Day and Expectant Family Masses, Anointing Mass Info at The End
Spring! Sure, we could do with a bit less rain, but we've been able to enjoy a green transition between Winter and Summer, which is right around the corner. You can almost smell it... but not if you have allergies!
On to the news!
Speaking of Spring...
Scheduling this year's Spring Fling was a bit challenging, but what a gorgeous event we had! The venue was beautiful. The food was highly complimented. The wine flowed, and the specialty cocktails kept the spirit alive. Even the weather cooperated - we told you it would in our April 27th "
Weather Report of Biblical Proportions
" - and, as promised, everyone who had their photo taken at the event came out looking fabulous! Thank you to all of you who supported it, whether you could make it or not. A full "Who's Who" of "Who Did What" will be in this weekend's bulletin. A lot of people worked hard, and had a lot fun, making this happen. Join them next year. We always appreciate a fresh face!
Last weekend twenty-seven students received First Holy Communion, twenty-two being our very own, and having received their formation at the ICC REP Program. Next Saturday, thirty-two eighth graders will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Gerald Walsh. Please keep all of these students, and their families, in your prayers.
In Support of Life
Special thanks to the Altar and Rosary Society for once again holding its annual Baby Shower. Please consider dropping a useful baby gift for a
Newborn - 1 year old
in the bassinet located by the Baptismal Font. A list of suggested items can be found in the bulletin. All donations go to the
Sisters of Life
and the fine work they do giving hope to those most in need of it, and always encouraging life.
A Request From The ICC Parish Council
Even with the assistance of our Spring Fling, and Easter and Christmas Collections, our parish takes a hard hit in the summer. Sparse pews, without a steady stream of donations, makes finances challenging. To rub salt in the wound, not everyone uses the "catch up envelopes" at the beginning of September, making June, July and August particularly difficult.
Our weekly totals have been predictably unpredictable. For this reason, last night the Parish Council asked that the Parish make a renewed push for enrollment in
, the online donation system.
Over the next few weeks you'll be hearing more about it. The members of the Council and I would not be doing our jobs if we didn't ask. We care about this Parish. We know you do, too. If you are going to be away on the weekends, sign up. It's easy. Visit
Three final quick notes.
Our future lies in our children.
Parents, teach your children the Faith by word and example. To those of you out there who care deeply and are faithful,
become a Catechist
make a difference!
Don't forget that
tomorrow at 10AM we will hold our Annual Anointing Mass.
All are welcome to attend.
See you at our Mother's Day Masses! We hope to see Expectant Families, too. ...And wait until you see this year's gift!
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
